Mission Statement

At All Saints, our Physical Education Department is dedicated to helping students discover and develop their full potential in physical activity and sport, equipping them with the skills and confidence to lead active, healthy lives beyond school. We believe that physical activity is a vital part of a student’s personal growth, supporting both their physical and mental wellbeing. 

Our goal is to provide inclusive opportunities for all students, regardless of background, experience, or ability, ensuring that everyone can engage in and enjoy sport. We encourage students not only to participate in physical activities but also to explore different roles within sport, such as officiating, coaching, and performance analysis, helping them develop a broader understanding of the sporting world. 

Above all, we aim to foster a lifelong love of movement, inspiring students to stay active throughout their lives so they can enjoy lasting health and wellbeing. Through high-quality teaching, excellent facilities, and a supportive environment, we empower every student to embrace physical activity and make it a meaningful part of their future.  

  

The department’s objectives include to: 

• provide an understanding of exercise and health through play, high quality curriculum provision and out of hours learning; 

• provide a range of extra-curricular opportunities that encourage and develop active, healthy students; 

• achieve skills which enable students to continue to be involved in sport and physical activities beyond school, whether that be as a performer, coach or official; 

• provide opportunities for participation and on-going professional development through close links with sports organisations in the local community; 

• provide competitive opportunities for teams and individuals to maximise their physical achievements; 

• promote an awareness of sporting opportunities available within the local community.
